Is it safe to have andrology surgery in Türkiye?
With a registry-verified surgeon and an internationally accredited hospital, outcomes can match anywhere in the world — and that is exactly what we check before we recommend anyone. If your case is better treated at home, we will say so.
Are Turkish hospitals up to international standards?
The ones we work with are. We only list facilities accredited by bodies international patients recognise — most often JCI (the US Joint Commission International) and ISO — and we verify that accreditation before a hospital appears.
Are the surgeons actually qualified?
Every surgeon is matched to their entry in an official medical registry, and we publish the lookup so you can confirm it yourself. Nobody writes their own profile or claims their own credentials here.
How experienced are the surgeons in these specific procedures?
Andrology is a sub-specialty, so volume matters. Where we can source and date how many of a given procedure a surgeon performs a year, we publish it; where we cannot source it, we leave it out rather than guess.
What are the success rates for these procedures?
They vary by procedure — penile implants, for example, have among the highest satisfaction rates in urology. Each procedure page states realistic outcomes and cites its sources rather than quoting a marketing figure.
What happens if there is a complication?
Reputable hospitals include a defined aftercare and complication pathway, and good surgeons plan for the small percentage of cases that need follow-up. We make sure the proposal spells out what is covered if something needs attention.
How much does treatment cost?
It depends on the procedure and, for implants, the device. Every proposal we send is itemised — surgeon, hospital, device and nights broken out — so you compare like for like rather than a single round number.
Why is treatment in Türkiye cheaper than at home?
Lower staffing and facility costs and a favourable exchange rate — not lower standards at the hospitals we use. The saving is real; the corner-cutting you should worry about is what our verification is designed to catch.
What exactly is included in a quote?
A proper proposal itemises the surgeon fee, hospital and theatre, the device (named), nights and transfers — and, importantly, states what is not included, so a low headline price cannot hide the extras.
Are there hidden costs I should watch for?
The usual ones are the implant device, extra hospital nights, medication and airport transfers. Our proposals list exclusions explicitly, so you see them before you commit rather than at the till.
How and when do I pay?
You pay the hospital or surgeon directly, not us — we are not a booking agent taking a cut of your money. Terms vary by clinic and are stated in the proposal so you know them up front.
Do you charge me a fee?
No. Using Andrology Abroad to research and receive proposals is free to you. We are not a lead-selling middleman charging you for an introduction.
Can I get treatment on finance or in instalments?
Some hospitals offer payment plans and some patients use medical-finance providers. Where an option exists we will tell you, but we do not arrange lending ourselves.
Will my home insurance cover it?
Elective treatment abroad is rarely covered, but it is worth asking your insurer. Keep every itemised invoice — you will need the breakdown for any claim or reimbursement.
How does Andrology Abroad actually work?
You tell us your situation in confidence, a person reviews it, and we come back with itemised proposals from verified surgeons and accredited hospitals. You choose who — if anyone — to approach. Only then does a clinic see your details.
Will a clinic contact me directly?
No. Your details stay with us until you have seen who we propose and chosen who to approach. No clinic sees your enquiry first, and your information is never sold or broadcast to multiple clinics.
How do you verify surgeons and hospitals?
Surgeons are matched to their medical registration, with the lookup published so you can check it yourself. Hospitals are checked against their accreditation (JCI, ISO). Case volumes are shown only when we can source and date them.
How do you make money if it is free for me?
When a patient chooses to proceed, the clinic pays us — never you. Crucially, our fee does not change with the price of your treatment, so we have no reason to push you toward a more expensive option.
Are you owned by a hospital or clinic?
No. We are independent, which is the whole point — a surgeon cannot pay to appear, to rank higher, or to have a bad fact removed.
Can surgeons or clinics edit their own pages?
No. They have no logins. Everything on a profile is a fact our team verified against a primary source, and we re-check on a schedule; lapsed records are unpublished.
How current is your information?
Every verified record carries a date and a re-check deadline. A check from three years ago is not a check, so anything past its deadline is taken down until it is re-verified.
What if I find something inaccurate?
Tell us and we will fix it. Use the contact form and choose “Correction to a page” — accuracy is the product, so we take corrections seriously.
Are the reviews on your site real?
Yes. Anyone can submit a review, but only reviews our team has read and approved are published — and a “verified” badge is reserved for those where we could confirm the person really was a patient.

Yes. Every surgeon, hospital, device and procedure page shows its patient reviews and an aggregate score, and the /reviews hub collects them all in one place.
What procedures do you cover?
We focus on andrology in depth rather than listing everything: penile implants, Peyronie’s disease repair, varicocele surgery, micro-TESE for azoospermia, vasectomy reversal and related procedures.
Can I choose the penile implant brand?
Yes. Every proposal names the exact make and model — AMS 700, Coloplast Titan and so on — so you can weigh the options rather than accept “an implant”.
What is the difference between a malleable and an inflatable implant?
A malleable (semi-rigid) implant is simpler and cheaper but always firm; an inflatable one is pumped up on demand and feels more natural, at a higher price. The penile implant page compares the types in detail.
How long does penile implant surgery take, and how long is the stay?
The operation itself is typically under two hours, usually with one or two nights in hospital and around five to seven days in the country. Exact figures are on the procedure page and in your proposal.
What is micro-TESE and who is it for?
Micro-TESE is a microsurgical sperm-retrieval procedure for men with non-obstructive azoospermia (no sperm in the ejaculate). It is often paired with IVF/ICSI; our condition and procedure pages explain the pathway.
Can varicocele surgery improve fertility?
For many men a microsurgical varicocelectomy can improve sperm parameters and, in the right cases, fertility. Whether it is worth it depends on your specific situation — which is exactly the kind of honest read we give.
Do you offer vasectomy reversal?
Yes, where a verified surgeon offers it. Success depends heavily on the time since the vasectomy and the surgeon’s microsurgical skill, both of which we factor into who we propose.
Is a penile implant permanent?
Yes — implant surgery replaces the natural erectile mechanism, so it is a permanent change and not something to undo. That is why we treat it as a considered decision, not a booking.
How long is recovery?
It varies by procedure — from a few days for minor surgery to several weeks before resuming all activity after an implant. Each procedure page gives a realistic, week-by-week timeline.
When can I fly home after surgery?
Usually a few days after most andrology procedures, once your surgeon is satisfied you have healed enough to travel. Your proposal builds in the right number of days rather than rushing you onto a plane.
What aftercare do I get once I am home?
Good clinics provide follow-up remotely and a route back if a question comes up. We also help you reconnect with the team later, so you are not left on your own after you land.
When can I return to work and to sex?
Return to desk work is often within a week or two; resuming sexual activity after an implant is typically around four to six weeks. Your surgeon gives you exact guidance for your case.
Do I need a visa to travel to Türkiye?
Many nationalities enter visa-free or with a quick e-Visa, but rules depend on your passport — always check your government’s current advice. We can point you to what to confirm.
Will language be a barrier?
At the hospitals we use, no. They run international-patient departments with English-speaking coordinators and interpreters, and the surgeons we propose can consult with you in English.
Can someone travel with me?
Yes, and for surgery we recommend it. Let us know and the arrangements — hotel, transfers — can be planned for two.
Where will I stay, and are transfers included?
Most proposals include or can include hotel nights and airport/hospital transfers. Because we itemise, you will see exactly what is covered rather than assuming.
How long will I need to be in Türkiye in total?
For most procedures, roughly five to seven days including consultations, surgery and a check before you fly. The procedure page and your proposal give the specific window.
Which cities do you cover?
Primarily Istanbul, plus other major Turkish centres where we have verified surgeons and accredited hospitals. We match you to the right surgeon first, then the city follows.
Is my enquiry confidential?
Completely. What you write stays with us, is never shared with a clinic until you choose one, and is never sold. We reply from a plain address with nothing identifying in the subject line.
Do I have to share medical records to get a quote?
Not to start. An initial proposal needs only a general picture; if a surgeon needs records or imaging to finalise anything, we arrange that securely and only with your agreement.
What if I am not sure which procedure I need?
That is fine, and common — many people know something is wrong but not what it is called. Describe the situation and we will help work out the options, starting from the condition rather than the procedure.
What if travelling abroad is not right for me?
We will tell you. If your case is better treated at home, or surgery is not the right step yet, we say so — even when an honest answer costs us the enquiry.
